FREQUENTLY ASKED

QUESTIONS

  • How do I become part of Tributaries?
Membership is quite simple-- send an email to iwutributaries@gmail.com or to Celina El Ghossaini at celghoss@iwu.edu and state your interest. Experience is not required, and there is always something to do!
  • Executive positions?
We're glad you asked! Beginning this year, we will be offering the positions of: 1. Assistant Lead of Communications 2. Assistant Lead of Publications These positions are for students who show initiative and are wanting to work directly with the book. Executive positions are for those who want to go above and beyond. You can be in both the Editorial Board and the Publishing Committee, and be in an executive position as well! Email iwutributaries@gmail.com if you are interested. 😶
  • How do I sign up to read previous copies of Tributaries?
It is easy! Any Wesleyan student/faculty member can view our issues online by either signing up with a valid Illinois Wesleyan email address, or by providing proof of former attendance of the school. Please email us for any other inquiries, or if any issues are not showing up!
  • Can only Illinois Wesleyan students submit?
Yes, Tributaries accepts submissions exclusively from IWU students.
  • What are your submission guidelines?
Please check out our guidelines here!
  • Am I allowed to submit untitled pieces?
Not typically, but we can be swayed. Pitch us a reason why you think your work is best represented without a title, and we can discuss. Otherwise, please be sure to include a visible title with all submissions, including art and photography pieces.
  • Am I allowed to submit pieces anonymously?
For logistical purposes, executive members need to know who submitted what. However, we can preserve your anonymity in the published book, and protect it from Editorial Board/Publishing Committee members.
