  • Please include a bio with your submission! Bios generally include hometown, major, and something that matters to you or something that you find interesting. Feel free to make it your own! Below are a few examples:

    • Katherine B-- Katherine is from Tinley Park, IL and is majoring in Economics. She likes short walks to the fridge, cats, and staying in her room. She plays the banjo and loves numbers, and hopes that one day the rest of the world will recognize that the two-party system will destroy us all. Xoxo

    • Ethan L-- Ethan is a Hispanic Studies major from Joliet, IL. He is a first-generation American, and is proud to be published in this journal. Ethan loves language, and finds it increasingly important to address the bridges and gaps between communities. He writes because words and language fascinate him, and he is very happy that Tributaries accepts multilingual work. He hopes to submit more pieces in the future that grapple with culture, language, and identity.

    • Kayla E-- Kayla is an English-Lit major from San Diego, CA. She struggles with living in Bloomington-Normal, but has found that writing about it can make her understand and appreciate her landscape. Kayla also loves photography, and uses it to capture the beauty in the mundane. She is finding that the more time she spends here, the more she appreciates this community and the small, Midwestern life.

Happy writing!
